Miravoy Publishing Services
Web Publishing
Inexpensive website and LMS hosting
Website hosting
We are not just a computer in a closet, we use an international managed server company which has data centers on every continent with 99% up time, located near major NOCs. We use Linux-based operating systems and cPanel as our server management program.
We primarily support WordPress, but there are many options for users for publishing websites. cPanel supports MySQL and Maria DB, PHP 8.4, and provides options for subdomains.
We are not interested in becoming a behemoth web hosting company, hoping to eventually sell off to a larger conglomerate. We will always remain independently owned and operated. Support is not in the Philippines or India. Real Americans in the USA supporting customers.
We offer basic hosting services. We offer site setup and design assistance if you want it, and we are not going to try and upsell you or sell your information to anyone – your contact information is confidential. We will help you as much as you need or you will only hear from us when it is time to renew.
While we are happy to host anyone, we are 2A and LE friendly. We will not de-platform anyone unless they are committing crimes, overtly bigoted, or hosting material that is not considered family friendly.
LMS hosting
Learning Management Systems are expensive, especially if your needs do not fit within the narrow confines of their pricing models.
Pricing is typically based on the number of users you expect to access your training materials on a monthly basis. These pricing models can cost tens of thousands of dollars a year.
Other pricing models may make it cheaper, but then limit how many visitors you can have, how much training content you can host, or restrict file sizes. Some require you use a proprietary program for building training, which means you cannot take the training with you.
Two choices for an LMS
Moodle
Cheapest, most flexible, some effort in creating courses, not an authoring tool
Best for low user counts, providing free training, or low cost training.
We use open source products to keep the costs low. You purchase how much space you want, we install Moodle for you, configure it, and hand it over. Or you can set it up yourself.
This option provides LMS hosting for those organizations whose needs are outside the confines of most other LMSs. No user counts, no file limits (other than overall storage pricing), no proprietary authoring software.
MyQuest
Flexible pricing, flexible use cases, easy to use authoring tool
Best for scalable user counts, training authoring, easy to read user data.
MyQuest is an LMS and authoring tool that provides a unique option for creating training within the LMS and allows you to export it to a SCORM (portable) file. It also provides flexibility in how you disseminate your training.
A great choice for mid- to large organizations that provides training for internal employees and external customers. While it has user licenses, they are flexible and scalable, and renewable. Also provides a payment gateway if you do not already have one. Also has a lot of advanced options like 1:1 coaching, AI assistance, and other tools.
Book Publishing Services
Consulting and services to help you navigate self-publishing
There are typically three-types of publishing:
Traditional
Pros: They will cover all of the costs of editing, designing, printing, marketing, and distribution of your book. You get a wider distribution with no upfront money.
Cons: You lose control of where and how it is sold and you get a small royalty.
Vanity publishing
Pros: They will edit, design, and print your book. They may even offer to market and distribute it.
Cons: You pay for everything. If you do not pay for everything, you get a better royalty than a traditional publisher, but still low. Vanity publishing cover design is usually very poor and their marketing is typically being featured in a catalog. If they don’t market and distribute the book, you have to do it yourself.
Self-publishing
Pros: You control everything and get a higher return on the sales of books.
Cons: You will edit, design, print, market, and distribute your book, yourself. You also have to pay for everything yourself, but without a mark-up. You have to discover all of the publishing industry knowledge and navigate it yourself.
What Miravoy does
Miravoy could operate as either of the three, but we would rather empower you to maximize the advantages of each and dodge the limitations.
Of course, the downsides of self-publishing is you still have to pay for everything, but Miravoy reduces the cost of mistakes and not knowing what is a real expense and what is you being taken advantage of.
